It is with great sadness that BGOP announces the passing of Fay LeCompte one of our founding members. Fay was an incredible smith who devoted his life to sharing and preserving the craft of blacksmithing. He passed on March 31st at 11pm. He was born in 1934 and his 91st birthday would have been in early May.
Fay’s cause of death was cancer and he was with family in Williamsburg, VA when he passed. Larry, Fay’s son is working on arrangements for his funeral which will likely be in Williamsburg.
